Desired solar coverage

100%

Share of your daily energy carried by solar + storage.

Your recommendation

Add appliances or pick a preset — we'll size your inverter, battery and solar array live, plus what you'd save.

Under the hood

How the calculator works.

A transparent, engineering-grade estimate — tuned for Nigerian conditions.

What we ask

  • Your energy use — build it appliance-by-appliance or enter your daily kWh directly.
  • Location — real peak-sun-hours for all 36 states + FCT (Lagos ~4.5 vs Sokoto ~6.2), which materially changes panel sizing.
  • Preferences — solar coverage, system goal, grid supply hours, battery type and panel wattage.

What we size

  • Solar array — coverage ÷ (peak sun hrs × performance ratio), with tier headroom (0/15/30%).
  • Battery— night load (~60% of daily) × autonomy days × margin, ÷ usable depth & efficiency.
  • Inverter — peak load × safety factor ÷ power factor, rounded to the next standard rating.
Estimates only. Figures are indicative (roughly 85–90% accurate under typical conditions) and blend grid and generator costs. A free Solfa site assessment — roof survey, shading and exact component selection — confirms the final design.
